Cerámica Para Todos in collaboration with Pitirre Proyectos
Cerámica Para Todos bridges the gap between world-renowned ceramic artists and the local Puerto Rican community. Through this program, local artists receive scholarships to attend workshops led by masters in the field, an opportunity to learn from experts, expand their skills, and bring fresh perspectives into their own practice. More than just education, these workshops create meaningful exchanges, where Puerto Rican artists connect with mentors , share ideas and techniques, and build community.
Cerámica Para Todos was founded by Cristina Córdova in 2022 as a collaboration with Studio 154 (led by Ivonne Prats) and Souvenir 154 (led by Raquel Perez Puig), and we are proud to continue this project through a current joint effort between Cristina Córdova (Center for the Study of Figurative Ceramics) and Pitirre Proyectos in collaboration with Raquel Perez Puig (Souvenir 154). In 2024, Cerámica para Todos became an official part of Pitirre Proyectos’ programming, helping to ensure its long-term impact and sustainability. Pitirre Proyectos, a nonprofit organization led by Dr. Gretchen Ruiz, is dedicated to expanding access to the arts in Puerto Rico, making this partnership a natural and meaningful next step.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming thoughtful and generous visiting artists such as Jaime Suarez, Cristina Córdova, Dr. Daniel Expósito, Julie Moon, Del Harrow, Kelsie Rudolph, Cody Hoyt and Yamileth Flores Reyes, whose presence has helped shape a vibrant learning environment. Beyond the classroom, some visiting artist is also invited to share their work through exhibitions curated by Raquel Pérez Puig at local venues in San Juan, offering students and the broader public a chance to engage with the artists’ finished work.
In the end, Cerámica Para Todos is not only about clay but what we build with in the act of community learning: the invisible architecture of belonging, of recognition, of voices finding each other across the table.
We are grateful to all past and present supporters of the program including the Pitirre Proyectos, Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation, Humanidades de Puerto Rico, Crafting the Future, Raquel Perez Puig, Ivonne Prats, Constructo, and la Liga de Arte de San Juan.
